This is one of the topic discussed during Unconference session at Kozhikode on November 1st, 2025.

Did some research and looks like all docs uploaded to https://zenodo.org (Public doc repository run by CERN/EU) automatically get a DOI. We could write an Omeka plugin that interacts with the Zenodo API to upload docs and get a DOI. As a bonus, our public docs get archived on Zenodo at CERN as well!

Uploads will be automated. No manual intervention. Only publicly visible open-license docs will be uploaded.

Let’s segregate the collections into different IP categories. At least part of the collection will have some DOI. Later we can expand and think parallels or extensions for the rest of the docs.

However, we need to construct a metabase / metadata philosophy and fill in important embedded or enclosing metadata into the docs before we upload them. This could be a one-time job that we can’t reengineer / revise later.
