How Can Readers Help Identify and Report Issues in Digitized works

Hello GPURA community,

While browsing the collection, I noticed a page orientation issue in PM-242 (page 14: https://gpura.org/item/pm-242-percy-macqueen-ms), which got me thinking about how we as users can help improve the archive.

Given the scale of digitization, various issues might exist across the collection:

  • Technical problems (orientation, image quality, broken links)

  • Metadata errors (dates, attribution, descriptions)

  • Content issues (transcription errors, sequencing)

  • Accessibility concerns

Questions:

  1. Does GPURA have a formal system for reporting issues?

  2. What types of feedback would be most helpful?

  3. How can we contribute to maintaining collection quality?

I
believe community collaboration could significantly enhance GPURA’s
value for everyone. Would love to hear about existing reporting
mechanisms or opportunities to help!

Regards,

Actually in the example cited above, the orientation is deliberately kept like that since the document is a manuscript. Manuscript is always treated in a different way. In such case we can use virtual rotate option. In the viewer tool there is virtual rotate option that can be used to rotate a particular page. Please see the screen shot.

But the main topic of this thread is an important point. We need develop some tool/option to report the issues. That option should preferably be placed in the particular item page itself.
