I’ve been experimenting with a more intuitive and playful way to browse the gpura.org collections, and the first early version is now live: https://gpura.space. It’s still rough around the edges, but the core experience is there, and I’d love for the community to try it out.
The goal is to open this up as an OSS project so others can improve, remix, and even build new interfaces on top of the same data. I’ll be moving the repo to a public home soon.

This is nice. Happy to see this type of initiatives that will enhance the usability of scans hosted in gpura.
I am more glad to see the type of filters available at the top. If we could enhance it further that will help users for filter down to the desired results very easily.
Some other suggestions:
When we select a book, that will open a screen that shows 2 options 1. Read Document 2. View on gpura.org. The first option “Read Document” is downloading the PDF. That is not good considering the fact that all our files are heavy. Instead, what we can do is, show the book in online viewer. (That action will also justify the option text “Read Document”)
The filter Period should be enhanced further allowing us to enter a particular year or a range of years,
Once gain thank you Lazim for this great solution.
Now, should be able to read from the site itself and choose a year range in period filter (There’s some unreliability on certain ranges, I’m working on it).
I think it would be good if you could add an option for single page/double page view also in the highlighted region. That would be very helpful in desktop view.
